The new home of Planet Studio NYC is located on Manhattan's Upper West Side, Studio C in the Music Works NYC Studios complex. The goal of the studio is to provide an environment for maximum creativity and comfort!  The studio is also the home of songwriter/producer Peter Bliss  (

The studio was designed by platinum engineer /consultant Christos Tsantillis (50 Cent, Patti LaBelle, The Roots, Diddy) and built by Michigan-based custom studio builder Ken Capton (Eminem, Kid Rock).

A 27" screen iMac  powered by an Intel i7processor with 32 meg RAM runs the latest native versions of ProTools12 , Logic PROX, Digital Performer, Reason along with Apple's Final Cut Studio software for video work. Video at the console is handled by a  30"LCD monitor with the 27 inch iMac to the mixer left position with both screens active to split screen tasks. 

The new PreSonus Faderport is the control surface for every sequencing platform. The mixer station features  JBL LSR308 speakers with matching sub JBL LSR310S, DynAudio 5M's  along with a pair of Avantone cubes for a 

Virtual Instruments installed include  Ivory II, Mach Five 2, Native Instruments Komplete11 Ultimate, Predator, Nexus reFX2, Structure, Strike, Transfuser, Toontrack's Superior Drummer & EZ Drummer, LOGIC PRO PlugIns Suite, Spectrasonics Stylus RMX, Trilian, Omnisphere, REASON/RECORD among others.

The studio features the WAVES MERCURY BUNDLE of plug-ins which includes the entire WAVES lines.  Rounding out the plug-ins are AutoTune, Celemony Melodyne and a host of many other third party plugs.  UAD plugins run on a PCIe expansion chassis Quad board along with the system Apollo Duo.  The Apollo console provides for no latency monitoring while allowing for UAD effects to be inserted in the record chain or monitored post. 

The Apogee Rosetta 800 and a UA Apollo 8 Duo provide the analog to digital conversion. Word clock house sync is provided by an Apogee Big Ben.  

The studio has a full complement of microphones and mike pre-amps including Neumann M149 / TLM 103, AKG414 451, AEA 92, Sennheiser 421, Shure SM85, SM7, SM57 and more.   Mike PreAmps / Channel strips include Avalon 737SP, Universal Audio 6716 and 4-710d along with AEA Dual Ribbon Pre and more.  Acoustic and electric guitars hang on the walls. Vintage FX units, Line 6 POD PRO, and Wave/Native/IK Multimedia provide direct emulation for guitar recording. A Fender Super Champ X2 combo amp rounds out the studio. 

The studio also has in its racks an Alesis Masterlink HD recorder, TC Electronics FInalizer Plus, Tascam CD-R5000 and Tascam CD-D4000 recorder/duplicators, Tascam DAT DA-30MkII, Tascam cassette machine Model202 along with a Sony Mini Disc recorder. Alesis ADAT is available and easily patched into the system when necessary for legacy work.

The studio has hosted a wide variety of sessions including hip hop, dance,live instrumental tracking, vocal and instrument overdubs, along with voice /over and narration work. The technical ability of the studio is only half the design intent. The human factor of a comfortable, living room like environment provides for a great work flow and encourages the best performances. It takes one session at the Planet to make all come back again and again!
